With The Years, Theater Malpertuis brings the successful autobiographical novel by Nobel Prize winner Annie Ernaux to the stage. Four actresses from different generations together portray a single woman’s life between 1941 and 2006. It is a collective autobiography: a deeply personal portrait that simultaneously makes post-war Western history tangible through memories, objects, and the shifting zeitgeist.
